The trial version of the game was only available in Canada, Europe, Russia, Turkey and the United States. Riot Games promoted streams with great influencers to show the gameplay of the game and distribute codes for this week’s closed beta, last Friday (3). During the exhibition, the game-specific broadcasts featured on Twitch hit 900 simultaneous views, according to Twitch Metrics. For comparison, the peak of simultaneous hits by Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) on Twitch in March was 560,000. Other successful games, League of Legends hit 459 thousand, while DotA 2 reached 166 thousand. Fortnite, one of the platform’s most popular games, has surpassed 316,000 in the past 30 days. The numbers are also from Twitch Metrics. Valorant is a tactical shooting game that features characters in a five against five scheme, with a proposal similar to that of CS: GO and Overwatch. Teams must defeat enemies, attack and plant a bomb, or defend maps. According to Riot, the title features true-to-reality shooting mechanics, a large arsenal of weapons, agents with unique skills, as well as maps with a competitive focus that yield many hours of gameplay.
