The series plot follows Mark Naird (Carell), a pilot and decorated general who dreams of commanding the Air Force, but is forced to lead the newly formed sixth branch of the U.S. Armed Forces: the Space Force. Kudrow plays Mark’s wife Maggie Naird, who supported her husband’s career for two decades. Now that he has a new challenge, she also sees the opportunity to grow in new directions. Space Force was created by Carell in partnership with Greg Daniels, screenwriter for The Office and co-creator of Parks and Recreation. The series is being presented as a sitcom along the lines of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Arrested Development. John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz, Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow and Don Lake complete the cast. With ten episodes, the first season of Space Force hits Netflix on May 29, 2020.
