Somagnews had access to the beta version, and spoke with Minecraft Dungeons executive producer David Nisshagen about the launch. Check out the first impressions of the beta gameplay below – the full version of the game will also be tested by our newsroom in a review soon. Some games of the dungeon-cra genreNot all stages of Minecraft Dungeons are accessible. Of the ten maps, the beta version provides only three for testing. Each map is inspired by one of the Minecraft biomes, such as Desert Temple, Redstone Mines and Soggy Swamp, which will be available in the full version (names not yet translated). For now, Horrifying Crypt, Creepers Grove and Pumpkin Pastures already give you a taste of what’s to come: lots of combat, exploration and fun. The loot, a common concept in dungeon-crawler games, is due to chests that are hidden in the levels. Through these boxes full of items and emeralds, the player gets equipment such as swords, axes, picks, bow and arrow and armor. Artifacts, which grant the user some effect such as increased strength, speed, or regeneration, can also be found in loot chests. Unlike Minecraft, which values exploration and survival, the focus of Minecraft Dungeons is combat and cooperation. It’s fun to play the game on your own, but with friends the possibilities multiply. The multiplayer mode allows local players, sharing the same console, or online mode restricted to players who are already on your friends list. There is still no system that combines people who do not know each other. Sharing the match with friends means that everyone can specialize within the team. Some equipment allows the player to heal his allies, while others increase the damage caused by ranged attacks. Thus, the team has more chances of victory. The aesthetic part of the game is deeply inspired by Minecraft. The gameplay is rooted in dungeon-crawlers, with superior third-person vision, items that appear through the stages and cannot be created and other characteristics of the genre. Using a joystick is the best way to play Minecraft Dungeons, but the gameplay adapts well to the mouse, which commands movement and attacks, and the keyboard, with the item commands. According to David Nisshagen, the idea for Minecraft Dungeons came from a team of programmers trying to adapt Minecraft for the Nintendo 3DS. “We needed to simplify Minecraft so that the code could work on the 3DS. The developers started thinking about what makes up the Minecraft foundation, and the features fit into a dungeon-crawler. Everyone involved is passionate about this style of play, and the idea came up little by little, due to a technical difficulty “, he says. It is worth mentioning that Minecraft Dungeons is expected to launch on May 26 on PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The pre-order is now available on PC, for the price of US $ 20 (about R $ 102, in direct conversion and without taxes), and on Xbox One, for R $ 75.
