Italy, the country where Covid-19 is the most hit, took a new step to protect healthcare workers against this situation. Sircolo hospital in the autonomous region of Lombardy, Varez, the epicenter of coronavirus in Italy, started using special robots to prevent doctors and nurses from approaching infected patients. According to a report by Reuters, the robot named Tommy is controlling their vital values by standing by their patients who are caught in coronavirus. The robots, which report the information they follow and send to healthcare workers, also enable patients to reach doctors in emergency situations. With the help of the touch screens on it, the robots transmit the requests of the patients to the doctor or other healthcare workers, thereby increasing the personal distance in the hospitals. In tests performed in Italy, the coronavirus test of 115.242 people has been positive so far. 13,915 of them died. It has been announced that more than 4 thousand healthcare workers who try to treat these patients throughout the country have been coronavirus and 66 doctors have died. These new robots will especially protect healthcare workers. The world needs to protect doctors and health professionals much better. For this reason, robots will help doctors in Italy to relax a little bit. Coronavirus pandemic reached 1 million infected patients in a short period of 3-4 months.
