Opera’s game-oriented browser, Opera GX, which was introduced at the E3 conference on June 11, 2019, continues to improve day by day. Opera Software, which has managed to attract the attention of many people with the new Opera GX, which it introduces as ‘game browser’, has integrated new game-related features into its internet browser. The first of these innovations offers built-in support for the popular communications platform Discord. Opera already allows you to add various messaging apps like Telegram and WhatsApp to GX’s sidebar. With the new update, users can now add Discord to the browser’s sidebar after clicking the menu icon in the lower left corner. This icon will act as a quick link to Discord.

What was added to Opera GX with the new update?

Opera has added a new feature called ‘Hot Tabs Killer’ to GX with the update. This feature, which can be opened with a single click from the sidebar, shows what tabs and services use how much RAM, CPU and network bandwidth, as the name suggests. So users can instantly identify the most resource-consuming tabs and close them quickly. Another feature of the new update offers users the option to force any site they open in the browser into dark mode. This new feature, which forces even sites without officially dark mode support to enter dark mode, can be activated through the ‘Settings’ menu in the upper right corner of the browser. At this point, Opera says the feature that allows you to view all sites in dark mode is still in beta. Therefore, users should not forget that they may encounter problems while using the feature. Launching Opera GX about a year ago, Opera Software announced the number of users as well as new features in the first year of the browser. According to the statement, Opera GX is used by 3.5 million active users per month.
